With the Amel 50.2, the French shipyard Amel is reviving a successful model

What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show

Building on the success of the Amel 50 – with around 140 vessels currently sailing worldwide – the Amel 50.2, making its debut at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, marks the start of a new chapter in the history of the French shipyard Amel.

Designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, the Amel 50.2 (16.70 metres in length and 4.99 metres maximum beam) stands out for its raked bow and flowing deck lines, which create a sleek silhouette. The central cockpit – a hallmark of Amel yachts – is new, while handling is made even easier with the mainsail and genoa capable of being furled electrically, as is the jib (optional).

The interiors have been completely refurbished, including the finishes (with a choice of light oak or American walnut), resulting in an even brighter and more welcoming saloon, a refurbished aft owner’s cabin, and the twin and single cabins forward of the mast. The galley has also been refurbished and is equipped for long voyages.

The Amel 50.2’s auxiliary engine is a 150 hp unit, and there are solar panels for a total production capacity of 570 W.
