The Italian Dinghy 12’ Championship comes to a close in Loano

Organised by the Circolo Nautico Loano on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), in collaboration with Marina di Loano, the Circolo Nautico Ceriale and the Circolo Nautico Albenga, the 91st Italian Dinghy 12’ Championship, a one-design class designed in 1913 by Englishman George Cockshott, has come to a close. A total of 65 crews took part in the Championship.

Following four races, held in conditions characterised by light and gusty winds, the title went to Marcello De Gaspari of the Italian Naval League of Genoa, with second place going to Antonio Iacometti of the Compagnia della Vela Forte dei Marmi, and third place to Alberto Patrone of the Cogoleto Sailing Club.

Marina di Loano and the Italian Dinghy 12’ Class Association will be among the key participants at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show (1–6 October) with their own stands.

The Italian Dinghy 12’ Class Association’s stand is located within the Blue Arena, the new exhibition space that welcomes visitors at the entrance to the new Palasport Pavilion, now fully renovated and redeveloped.
