What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show
A symbol of a ceaseless pursuit of excellence, the Palm Beach 65 – arriving from the Australian shipyard of the same name, which has been part of the Grand Banks Group since 2014 – takes centre stage at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show.
The Palm Beach 65, measuring 19.10 metres in length and with a maximum beam of 5.23 metres, offers, just like all Palm Beach models, a smooth, safe and fuel-efficient sailing experience.
Among the distinctive features of the Palm Beach 65, in addition to the model’s profile reminiscent of American lobster boats, are its composite construction with extensive use of carbon fibre and infusion techniques, its semi-displacement hull which combines speed and stability with reduced fuel consumption, and the possibility of customising all areas, starting with the flybridge.
In the cockpit and at the stern, there is a sofa flanked by a large table, with access to the stern platform on the starboard side. In the saloon, there are sofas and matching tables on both sides, with the helm station on the starboard side. The galley is on the lower deck, where the owner’s cabin, located at the bow, a double cabin and two bathrooms are also situated.
The standard engine configuration comprises two Volvo Penta IPS 950 units delivering 725 hp, offering a maximum speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots. Alternatively, two IPS 1200 units delivering 900 hp provide speeds of 40 and 33 knots respectively. Another option: two Volvo D11 engines (725 hp) with a shaft drive, delivering a maximum speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots.
