The award-winning Excess 13 catamaran by French firm CNB

What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show

The Excess 13 from French shipyard CNB is making its debut at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, having already won a host of awards, starting with the Multihull of the Year 2026 award, which complements the model’s European Yacht of the Year title.

Developed by engineers at the Marc Lombard Design Studio and designed by Jean-Marc Piaton, the Excess 13 (12.38 metres long by 7.25 metres wide), thanks to its sophisticated construction, weighs 20% less than catamarans of similar size and offers a 15% larger upwind sail area (113 square metres).

The saloon is bathed in natural light, and the galley – acting as a link between the interior and exterior – opens onto the cockpit, which is furnished with an L-shaped sofa, a table and various other seats.

There are two layout options. In the three-cabin layout, the starboard hull is reserved for the owner, while the port hull accommodates two double berths. In the second layout, there are two double berths in each of the two hulls.

The Excess 13 is powered by two 40 hp auxiliary engines.
