Tankoa Yachts: two production hubs for an integrated system

Tankoa Yachts continues to develop its integrated production system across its shipyards in Civitavecchia and Genoa, which now operate as a single industrial platform for the construction of large superyachts.

The main stages of hull construction take place at the Civitavecchia production site; once the first phase is complete, the hull is loaded onto a floating pontoon and towed to the Genoa shipyard, where the final stages of fitting-out, testing and delivery take place.

Following the first transfer in July 2025, two yachts – a 50-metre and a 55-metre vessel – have already left Civitavecchia for Genoa at the end of March, with a further two transfers scheduled between late spring and early summer.

At the Civitavecchia site (covering 34,000 square metres), work is currently underway on seven units, including fully custom and semi-custom yachts, ranging in length from 50 to 72 metres. Worthy of particular note, the keel-laying ceremony for a 61-metre yacht is scheduled for June, along with the steel-cutting for a 72-metre yacht and the installation of engines on a 50-metre yacht.

Tankoa Yachts’ growth trajectory continues its positive trend: since 2020, when the company operated exclusively from its historic headquarters in Genoa with around thirty employees and produced just one large yacht per year, has now expanded to two production sites, with over 120 direct employees, around 600 indirect employees, a range of yachts between 45 and 80 metres, and a delivery capacity of 3-4 yachts per year. This achievement is the outcome of a clear strategic and positioning choice.
