What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show
CMC is bringing an ever-expanding range of technological solutions to the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, featuring a series of product innovations designed to enhance the performance, comfort and efficiency of its stabilisation and handling systems.
The first new development is the new range of LA (Low Aspect Ratio) blades, entirely designed and developed by CMC’s R&D department for the Stabilis Electra stabilisers, with fin surfaces ranging from 2.10 to 7 square metres. Thanks to an innovative rounded edge, the new blades reduce forward resistance by up to 30%, delivering tangible benefits in terms of fuel consumption, comfort at sea and stability at anchor.
Another new feature is the series of five-bladed propellers for the Dualis Electra thrusters, also designed entirely by CMC’s R&D team. This new configuration reduces thrust oscillations by up to 30%, ensuring smoother manoeuvrability and superior comfort on board.
Also making its debut is a new capacitive display with updated graphics, characterised by excellent readability even in direct sunlight and high responsiveness. The new screen features NMEA 2000 CAN ports, while the new graphics offer an even more intuitive and comprehensive user experience.
At its stand (Upper Hall B – TN06), CMC is also presenting a demonstration of the Energy Recovery System, inspired by the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) developed for Formula 1 vehicles, which CMC Marine has adapted for the boating sector. This system recovers the energy generated during fin braking and reuses it for stabilisation. The result is the elimination of power peaks, with a 50% reduction in energy consumption.
