What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show
The Lagoon 47 from Lagoon Catamarans is revolutionising the market thanks to its wide range of interior layouts. The Lagoon 47, a catamaran measuring 14.95 metres in length and 7.96 metres in beam, boasts the expertise of French firm VPLP (which has designed America’s Cup-winning multihulls) for its naval architecture, Patrick Le Quément, who headed Renault’s Design Centre for 20 years (he designed the Twingo), for the exterior design, and the Milan-based firm Nauta Design for the interiors.
The Lagoon 47 offers layouts with three, four or even five guest cabins, in addition to the crew’s quarters. A unique offering for a 47-foot catamaran.
There are ample outdoor spaces onboard, ranging from those on the flybridge next to the helm station, where all the rigging is routed (128 m² of sail area), to those not only in the aft cockpit but also in the forward cockpit (12 m² in area), equipped with sunbathing cushions and a coffee table from which – another new feature – there is direct access to the saloon.
The standard engine configuration comprises two 57 hp engines and, thanks to the option of various layouts, the Lagoon 47 can accommodate up to 12 people.
