What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show
Riviera Genova Srl, a company founded in Genoa in 1976, is presenting its Riviera Astra at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, designed to redefine the role of the compass on board by combining operational function, safety and design.
In a sector such as the boating industry, which is increasingly geared towards digitalisation, connectivity and automation, the Riviera Astra stems from a reinterpretation of one of the oldest instruments in navigation: the magnetic compass.
It is precisely this simplicity that now represents one of its main strengths. In the event of an emergency or an electronic malfunction, the magnetic compass can in fact continue to provide an immediate reference for orientation and navigation, confirming its status as an essential backup tool and an integral part of seafaring culture.
The true innovation of the Riviera Astra, however, lies in its onboard integration. Its distinctive upside-down configuration, with ceiling-mounted installation, transforms the compass from a simple technical component into a visible and distinctive feature of the helm area, seamlessly complementing the boat’s contemporary design.
