On 15 May, the Benetti shipyard in Livorno will host the launch of Connecting Excellences, a project that brings together three complementary elements: Benetti’s design heritage, the vision of international designers associated with the shipyard, and emerging talent from Italy’s leading art academies.
Connecting Excellences forms part of the training and talent search programme run by the shipyard group’s People & Organisation department and involves a selection from among the leading Italian institutions with which the group actively collaborates, including the Politecnico di Milano, IED Turin and the University of Genoa – La Spezia, involving a total of around 100 selected students.
Guests will be welcomed by Camilla Calza, Benetti’s Marketing Director. This will be followed by a round-table discussion, moderated by journalist Matteo Zaccagnino, featuring Sebastiano Vida, Benetti’s Head of Product, alongside Charlie Baker, Client & Project Director at RWD, and Giorgio Cassetta, CEO and founder of Cassetta Yacht Designers.
Connecting Excellences was created with the aim of presenting the shipyard not only as a centre of manufacturing excellence but also as a hub of ideas. A cultural and design hub, where direct dialogue can be fostered between contemporary yachting professionals and the new generation of designers.
