Already set to become the largest sailing yacht ever to join the Nautor Swan fleet and the first yacht to be constructed from aluminium in the shipyard’s extensive 60-year history, the Swan Alloy 44 is currently taking shape at the Dutch shipyard Gouwerok, where welding work on the first structural sections has begun.

“This is my first sailing yacht and I am feeling a unique sense of excitement after so many motor yachts,” commented Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo and owner of this first yacht in the Swan Alloy range. “For Nautor Swan, this project marks the beginning of a brand new chapter. It transports the brand into uncharted territory, while still remaining faithful to the values that have defined Swan throughout its sixty-year history.”

The hull and exterior design of the Swan Alloy 44 bear the signature of Malcolm McKeon, while the interiors have been entrusted to Christian Liaigre’s Parisian studio, which in its most recent projects has expressed a distinctive approach combining innovation, elegance and style.

Measuring 43.5 metres in length and with a beam of 9.45 metres, the Swan Alloy 44 is fitted with a lifting keel, with a draught ranging from 4.30 to 6.30 metres, and the estimated gross tonnage is 299 GT. The Southern Spars mast will fly Doyle sails.

The new Swan Alloy 44 will be equipped with dual-energy technology, which means her propulsion system will be based on the hybrid propulsion experience developed both by Sanlorenzo with its hybrid models and by Nautor Swan with the 51, 88 and 128 models.

Once the hull and deck reach their completion, the new Swan Alloy 44 will leave the Gouwerok shipyard to be transferred to Viareggio for her final fitting-out. Delivery is scheduled for 2028.
