A double event organised by Azimut|Benetti in the Viareggio Darsena yesterday, Wednesday 24 June, saw Benetti launch the 44-metre Lumina with one of their ever-spectacular slipway launches – a historic ritual that combines the legacy of the master shipwrights with the brand’s historical identity. At the same time, the Group kicked off a €100 million investment programme in Tuscany.
Designed by Cassetta Yacht Designers, Lumina spans four decks and, following sea trials, will shortly be delivered to her US owner. Her launch reaffirms the central role of the Tuscan region within the Azimut|Benetti Group’s development strategy for the superyacht segment; with 14 industrial sites spread across Viareggio, Livorno, Massa and Pisa, this region alone accounts for 70% of the Group’s global results.
The Azimut|Benetti Group, whose production value has risen from €758 million in 2020 to €1.56 billion in 2025 (+100%), has allocated €77 million to Tuscany over the last three years and, to coincide with the launch of Lumina, has launched a new investment programme worth a further €100 million for the three-year period 2026–2028.
The main initiatives include boosting the production capacity of industrial sites, their energy transition, the redesign and refurbishment of executive offices and customer reception areas, investments in the ongoing development of new yacht models, materials and technology, and the expansion of the facilities and production capacity of Lusben, the Azimut|Benetti Group’s Refit Division, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
