What’s New at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show
Designed as a Mediterranean villa sitting on the water’s edge, the Seadeck 9 is the flagship of the Seadeck range, which Azimut Yachts is presenting at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show. A flagship that introduces the revolutionary Fan Island, a stern area where terraces cascade across three levels, complete with a swimming pool and a platform for entering the water – an area of 60 square metres designed to be enjoyed and shared.
The Seadeck 9, 25.60 metres long (though under the 24-metre classification limit) and 6.30 metres wide, bears the signature of Alberto Mancini for the exterior design and of Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez for the interiors, which are bathed in natural light through large floor-to-ceiling windows. Alongside the Fan Island, another distinctive feature is the retractable terraces which, when opened out towards the sea, bring the yacht’s total width to 7.70 metres.
The Seadeck 9 is built with extensive use of carbon fibre to lighten the structure and, in place of traditional PVC, utilises PET, two solutions that have made it possible to reduce emissions from the production cycle by up to 40%.
The hull is the result of a joint effort between NAMES and Azimut Yachts’ R&D Department. The Seadeck 9 offers 4-5 cabins, providing a total of 10 berths for guests.
The standard engine configuration comprises three Volvo Penta IPS 1200 units delivering 900 hp or three Volvo Penta IPS 1300 units delivering 1000 hp. Maximum speed exceeds 30 knots; cruising speed exceeds 14 knots.
