2018 DESIGN ACCESSORY AWARDS HANDED OUT

PREPARATIONS ARE ALREADY UNDERWAY FOR TOMORROW’S VISIT FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC, SERGIO MATTARELLA

Anyone visiting the Genoa International Boat Show these days will have seen how crowded it is“. The President of UCINA, the Italian Marine Industry Association, Carla Demaria, told journalists how impressive the number of visitors has been this year so far, during the traditional friendly Coffee with the President press meeting which takes place every afternoon in the press office. “The quality of the clientele this year is also very high. Exhibitors from all segments are even more satisfied than last year “.

A level of satisfaction confirmed by Anton Francesco Albertoni, President Emeritus of UCINA and patron to Veleria San Giorgio, who during the press meeting commented that, “Turnout in the pavilion dedicated to accessories and components is also very positive. There are already many B2B meetings confirmed for Monday and Tuesday and we are already anticipating a significant increase in participation“.

Andrea Razeto, Vice President of UCINA and owner, alongside brother Giangi Razeto, of the company F.lli Razeto&Casareto, confirmed the positive trend and reminded journalists that “UCINA has always represented Italy’s entire leisure boating industry supply chain and strived to satisfy all exhibitors at the Genoa International Boat Show “.

The traditional chat between the press and UCINA President Carla Demaria was today preceded by the 2018 Design Accessory Selection, an initiative which aims to identify the best design accessory produced in 2018.

Promoted by the Italian Marine Industry Association UCINA and ADI (the Italian Design Association) in partnership with the magazine IBI – International Boating Industry, rewards the most interesting accessories showcased at the Genoa International Boat Show, selected by a Jury which includes Luisa Bocchietto, President of WDO, World Design Organisation, Nicoletta Negro, representing the Liguria Delegation of ADI, Stefano Pagani Isnardi, manager of UCINA’s Market Research Department. The products worthy of this mention will be nominated for inclusion in the ADI Design Index, the annual ADI publication which gathers the best of Italian design, chosen by ADI’s Permanent Design Observatory and which opens the door to the prestigious Golden Compass award.

Special mention for CODE PE – BAMAR, electric furling pad, for the high quality of design, the expert use of materials, attention for detail and the potential use of industrial technology for small series as well.

An important day tomorrow with an official visit from the Italian President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who will be visiting the Genoa International Boat Show between 11 and 12 in the morning and will be welcomed by UCINA’s highest management and local authorities.
