151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy – a change of course but the party is only starting

After 16 editions, the 151 Miglia Cetilar Trophy changes course. “But the spirit of a regatta designed for everyone and the party that has distinguished it since its very first edition remains unchanged,” explained Gianluca Romoli, sports director of the Repubblica Marinara di Pisa Yacht Club, which, along with the Punta Ala Yacht Club and the Livorno Yacht Club, is a member of the organising committee.

The announcement was made on the stage of the Breitling Theatre at the 64th Genoa International Boat Show, during which all the latest changes and additions to the 2025 edition scheduled to take place 30th May were illustrated in detail, starting from the new route, summarised in the claim “Sea Change”.

“After years of direct experience and discussions with sailors, we have opted for a route that is even closer to the spirit of the 151 Miglia, a full immersion in the splendid islands of the Tuscan Archipelago that we are sure will garner nothing but positive feedback,” explained Roberto Lacorte, President of the Repubblica Marinara di Pisa Yacht Club and founder of the regatta, in a video message.

This is the route of the 2025 edition of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy. After the usual departure from Livorno, the disengagement buoy and the Marina di Pisa passage, the route foresees the passages of Gorgona, Capraia, Pianosa and the Formiche di Grosseto, before the ascent towards the Piombino channel, the lapping of the islet of Cerboli and finally the arrival at Marina di Punta Ala.

No more Giraglia passage but a route increasingly focused on the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, one of the most beautiful and tactically challenging areas of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

As always, the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy calendar will be brimming with exciting events. From the 151 Winter Series, a winter event between Punta Ala and Livorno Marina di to the 15.1 Run, a non-competitive footrace for charity fundraising, the 15.1 Sail, a 15-mile coastal race that acts as a sort of warm-up for the regatta, and, of course, the Crew and Dinner Party, the social events at the start and end of the event that are now a classic part of the programme.

The stage of the Italian Offshore Championship, the IMA Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge and the Tuscan Archipelago Trophy, the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy is organised with the usual support of its sponsor Cetilar, a brand under the pharmaceutical company PharmaNutra, the official timekeeper TAG Heuer and partners Plastimo, CrewPro, Benetti, Porto di Livorno 2000, Porto di Pisa and Marina di Punta Ala.

The 15th edition of the 151 Miglia – Cetilar Trophy will take place on 30th May 2025.
